Samantha Edithso Won the Chess World Champion in Spain

Indonesian chess player, Samantha Edithso, once again won an achievement at the world level. This time, this year’s chess player won the World Cadet Chess Championships 2018 held in the City of Compostela, Spain, November 3rd-15th, 2018.

In the championship which was attended by 851 young chess players from 86 countries, Samantha who contested in the U10 number managed to excel from her opponents. Under Samantha, there is Alexandra Shvedova from Russia who won 8.5 points and Chinese chess player Yining Chen who also won 8.5 points.

Quoted from the official tournament website, Samantha’s victory was achieved quite dramatically. In the 11th round as the final round, Samantha has 8 points to beat Alexandra who has collected 8.5 points. In another match, Yining Chen, who also collected 8 points, failed to overcome the resistance of his compatriot, Yafei Zhou. And they both play draw.

For Samantha, this victory at the world level is his second victory, after in June, this chess player from Bandung has succeeded to win the U-10 FIDE World Championship 2018, which took place at Minks.
