Wushu’s Silver Medal Through The Finalist Action From The Children of The Nation

The wushu’sbranch able engravehistory again by contributing a medal to the Indonesian contingent. On the first day, this Chinese sports branch produced a silver medal in Cangquan number. In this number, Edgar Xavier Marvelo was narrowly defeated by Chinese wushu athlete, Sun Peiyuan.

Edgar has been in wushu since he was 6 years old. His desire to play wushu was driven by Kung Fu-themed films starring by Bruce Lee, Jet Li, and Jackie Chan. Since that time, he has achieved many achievements. Even around the age of 12, Edgar has registered himself as a world champion in Singapore. Since then, he has won various titles in national and international championships, including winning gold medals at the 2017 Wushu World Championships in Russia.

At the age of 14, the ability to play wushu had brought Edgar at the talent search named “Action of the ChildrenOf The Nation” which has been aired on one of Indonesia’s private TV. In the final of the event that opened audition in Bandung, Surabaya and Jakarta, Edgar only ranked at the 4th. And in 2018, the Action of the Children of the Nation truly embodied his desire as a child who’s able to give something to his nation.

As quoted from Tempo.co, Edgar expressed his gratitude for all those who helped him to achieve the achievements he wanted. “Thank you to all parties, including the managers, coaches and all friends. Also to my family who gave me support and enthusiasm so I’m able to win a silver medal, “he said.
