The Indonesian Women’s Volleyball National Team closed the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifiers with a victory over Iran in Nakhon Ratchasima Thailand on Thursday (1/9/2020). Unfortunately these results were not enough to make them successfully pitched to Tokyo.
The duel between Indonesia and Iran took place at Pol B. This match actually had no impact on both teams, because both Indonesia and Iran had lost the chance of advancing to the semifinals.

In this Olympics qualification, Indonesia is joined in Pol B along with South Korea, Kazakhstan and Iran. In the first match Yulis Indahyani and her friends were forced to submit to a 0-3 defeat (18-25, 10-25, 9-25). Not wanting to be a hooray team, Srikandi Indonesia tried to get up in the second match against Kazakhstan. The start of the game was quite convincing. Even they had excelled in the first and second game.

But unfortunately mental problems and calm become a stumbling block. So that Kazakhstan is able to reverse the situation approaching critical points. Indonesia again lost dramatically 0-3 (22-25, 23-25, 18-25). Defeat in the second match was enough to make Indonesia’s opportunities closed. Because only the top two teams can qualify for the semifinals. And only the champions from the qualifying round are entitled to advance to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

In the last match, Indonesia faced Iran. No longer have the opportunity for both teams to come loose without a burden. The two teams that had lost the previous two matches were equally adamant about not going home empty-handed. Making the match take place like a final match.

Chasing points is unavoidable throughout the game with sharp spikes coloring throughout the game. After five tiring sets Wilda Siti And friends can go home with their heads held high. They succeeded in ending the Iranian resistance with a score of 3-2 (21-25, 15-25, 25-21, 26-24, 12-15). With this victory, Indonesia finished in the third position of Pol B. While the first position was filled by South Korea, followed by Kazakhstan.
