Indonesian U-23 National Team forward Osvaldo Haay is currently the leader of the list of top scorers at the 2019 SEA Games. The bloody Papuan player has recorded eight goals in six matches.
Most recently, Osvaldo Haay recorded one goal, and helped the national team beat Myanmar 4-2 in the semifinals at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Saturday (07/12), at the 2019 SEA Games. The young player of Persebaya Surabaya, is now one of the important pillar of Garuda Muda’s success being able to penetrate the final round.
In fact, true Osvaldo is not the first option on the front lines of this team made by Indra Sjafri. He is a coating of Muhammad Rafli who is positioned as the main forwards. However, replacing Rafli who was injured, Osvaldo was actually able to give the best performance for the Indonesian Team. Even in the first two games, Osvaldo who only went down as a backup was able to score two goals.
The opportunity as a new starter was found by the former Persipura Jayapura player in the third match against Vietnam. Where Rafli must rest because of injury. At that time Osvaldo actually failed to score a goal, and Indonesia had to give up 1-2 from Vietnam. Osvaldo’s new goals were again created in the next fight until the semifinals.
The moment of Osvaldo’s resurrection occurred when Indonesia fought Brunei Darussalam. Where he managed to score a hat trick. Then in the match against Laos, Osvaldo donated two goals, as well as one other goal in the semifinal match against Myanmar.
So far the Indonesian Team itself has recorded 21 goals during competing in the SEA Games until the semifinal round. Osvaldo’s eight goals alone make up 38% of Garuda Muda’s total goals.
In the meantime, Osvaldo leads the list of top scorers, along with Vietnam’s Ha Duc Chinh who also collected eight goals.
Osvaldo temporarily leads the top scoring list with Vietnam striker Ha Duc Chinh, who also collected eight goals. Han Duc managed to match Osvaldo’s goal record, after he scored three goals against Cambodia in the semifinal match.
The competition for the top scoring title will be an interesting drama to watch in the final match between Indonesia Vs Vietnam at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, next Tuesday (12/10). Both Osvaldo and Han Duc still have great potential to be able to increase the number of goals, and appear as the top score at the 2019 SEA Games.
As for other Indonesian players, Egy Maulana Vikri, is fourth with a collection of four goals.
