Indonesian Team Champion champion at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Eko Yuli Irawan, is optimistic that he will be able to present a gold medal, at the four-yearly Games. Indonesia’s Samson did not feel burdened at all, with the gold target now being carried.
“Not burdened because of my ambitions to win a gold medal at the Olympics.” Hopefully we can win a gold medal, ” said Eko in Jakarta, as reported by Sindonews.
Eko, who is one of six Indonesian athletes who had temporarily locked a ticket to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, admitted that he was very passionate about being able to improve his achievements in his fourth participation at the 2020 Olympics this time.
“Two bronzes and one silver, I want a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics,” he said.
With the approach of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics coming in July-August, Eko is now more intensive in preparing for the series of exercises in order to improve his abilities.
Eko is currently in the final preparations, before going to Tokyo, namely by taking part in the Asian Weightlifting Championship as a final warm-up event before the Olympics.
“The plan is to compete in the Asian Championships in the near future, but it is unclear where it is because it has been delayed,” he said.
