Tennis Put Targets Two Gold in Sea Games 2019

The Executive Board of the Indonesian Field Tennis Association (PB Pelti) set a target of two gold at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines which will be held on 31 November. The target presentation was delivered directly by PB Pelti’s General Chairperson, Ridlo Ananda Anwar.

There are five numbers to be contested at the Southeast Asian Games, namely men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Of the five, the gold target is charged to the women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Ridlo said that the target set was the result of the analysis of competitor athlete maps. He called the tennis competition in the 2019 SEA Games increasingly fierce to see the performance shown by athletes from other countries.

These two numbers have a great opportunity to win gold. While the possibility is not closed for the remaining three numbers, it’s just that the Indonesian contingent has to work extra.
“We dare not target more than two gold medals. Just enough two gold medals that we try to donate to the Indonesian contingent in the Philippines later, “he said as quoted by

“We already understand the power of tennis in Southeast Asia. Thailand and Malaysia have players who are strong enough while Vietnam is rumored to be using a naturalized player from the United States,” he continued.

To target the targeted athletes diligently making preparations. One of them by joining various competitions. As did Christoper Rungkat who honed himself in the United States tournament.

Pelatnas itself was held by Pelti in the middle of May. The result of the 16 athletes who were summoned now narrowed to just 10 athletes.

“All tennis players on the Indonesian Tennis Team will join 10 days before departure to the Philippines,” he said.
