The Indonesian Tennis National Team has finally returned to training. The women’s team started the Pelatnas in the Bung Karno (GBK) Complex, Senayan, Jakarta. The Management of the Indonesian Field Tennis Association (Pelti) through its General Chairperson, Rildo Ananda Anwar, said that the men’s team could not join, because there were many players who were still stuck in their respective regions.

“We have started training this week and just doing internal competition. Yes, this is done between players only, but specifically for women. There are all six tennis players,” said Rildo as reported by Coils.

Rildo explained, so far the performance of the female tennis players still look consistent. According to him, Beatrice Gumulya et al, during the pandemic and practicing independently they did practice well in their homes.

“So their play patterns are still good and not decreased at all,” said Rildo.

Previously when PSBB entered the transition period, Pelti applied for permission to use the tennis court to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPK GBK), in order to be able to hold Pelatnas again.

Rildo also ensured that during the Pelatnas, the women’s tennis team would uphold the commitment to implement strict health protocols. Covering, washing hands with soap and running water, during breaks and after exercise. Likewise with the use of towels to wipe sweat. The players are asked to wash their hands first.

“So we have to be clean as much as possible. We entered GBK and then checked his body temperature first. After that, we used the rules of our own protocol,” he said.

Regarding the tournament agenda, Rildo explained that currently Pelti continues to coordinate with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the government. In addition there is also an internal evaluation within the Pelti itself.

“Later we will see if it is possible. Because there are regulations from the government about avoiding large audiences. Tennis is the smallest risk because it does not contact the body, the distance remains far. We are just waiting for regulation. We also have to coordinate with ITF. we started because we started to enter points, “concluded Rildo.
