Siman Sudartawa Will Enliven the Indonesia Open 2018

I Gede Siman Sudartawa and some of Indonesia’s best swimming athletes are planning to participate in the Indonesia Open tournament 2018. The tournament is originally called IOAC which started a year ago as a test event for the Asian Games 2018. As a new form of the Inter-Association Swimming Championship, this tournament will be attended by around 2000 sports athletes in the water category. This event will be held at the Aquatic Stadium, Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, December 1st-9th, 2018.

The championship with the 2nd name IOAC or the 2nd Indonesia Open Aquatic Championship will be participated by Indonesian and foreign athletes. Especially for Indonesian athletes, this event will be the national selection for the SEA Games 2019.

“We, PB PRSI will make this event a championship calendar that will be held every year. This event is also a selection for national athletes who will compete in the Sea Games 2019. “said Harlin E Rahardjo as Deputy General Chair of PB PRSI, as quoted from Kompas.com.

A total of 4 sports will be competed in this year’s tournament. Swimming sports will be competed on December 1st-5th, water polo 1st-6th December, artistic swimming 7th-9th December, Diving 6th-9th  December, plus master swimming December 9th, 2018.

In addition for being SEA Games selection arena, this tournament is expected to become a forum for the emergence of talented Indonesian athletes.

“Another hope is that with this championship, hopefully there will be a lot of talented young athletes appearing for the regeneration of swimming achievements in Indonesia,” said Harlin.
