The Indonesian national team continues to make preparations ahead of the 2019 SEA Games. Improvements continue to be made including choosing which players will be taken to the Philippines. A quota of 20 players is being pursued by coach Indra Sjafrie.
The coach from West Sumatra is currently selecting which players will inhabit the Indonesian squad at the Games between Southeast Asian countries. At present, the number of Indonesian players has become 24 players after 4 players experienced deletions. They are Hanif Sjahbandi (Arema FC), Alberto Goncalves alias Beto (Madura United), Hambali Tholib (Persela), and Rifad Marasabessy (Tira Persikabo).
To meet the quota, coach Indra Sjafrie is trying to choose players who fit the needs of his team. Quoted from topskor.id, the selection of these players was carried out in stages.
“We gradually reduced the number. The players who were retained were those whom I assessed according to the needs of the scheme and strategy,” Indra Sjafri said, Sunday (11/17).
Football will be held on November 26, 2019, before the official SEA Games opening ceremony will take place. In this event, Indonesia joined a heavy group with Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
