The Indonesia Woman National Team, will soon compete in the group phase at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines. Putri national team will compete with a strength of 20 players. This is the first time Indonesia has sent a women’s team to the biennial sports event, from the last four SEA Games editions.

The best achievement ever achieved by the Women’s National Team in the SEA Games was ranked fourth. The results were recorded, during the 1997 and 2011 SEA Games, as reported by Kompas.com. At the Philippine Sea Games this time, there are only six countries that will compete for the gold medal in women’s soccer numbers.

Putri Indonesia national team itself, joined with Vietnam and Thailand in Group B. Whereas in Group A, it contains the hosts of the Philippines, Malaysia and Myanmar. Vietnam is the first opponent for Zahra Muzdalifah and colleagues. The match will be held at the Binan Stadium on Friday (29/11).

In the same place the Indonesian Women’s Team will again face the toughness of Thailand on Monday (02/12). Indonesian women’s national team will be back competing against Thailand at Binan Stadium on Monday (2/12/2019). The Garuda Pertiwi group itself has arrived in Binan City, Philippines, since Wednesday (11/27) afternoon.

On the same day, the squad made by coach Rully Nere immediately held a practice, and also conducted a field trial for two hours.

“Today (yesterday), our focus is only conditioning for the players on the field, considering it just landed,” said assistant coach of the Indonesian women’s national team, Yopie Riwoe.

“We can also hold training sessions after a long journey.”

“So far the field has been okay, there are no problems,” he said as reported by the official PSSI website.

For training sessions on Thursday (11/28/2019), Garuda Pertiwi’s squad focused more on closing the defense lines.

“We have to be very focused at the time of defense, because in my opinion that’s the right key when facing a fast game of Vietnam,” said Indonesian women’s national team defender, Shalika Aurelia.

“Through the individual Vietnam players pass very quickly, and focus and not panic we have to do with tomorrow’s game,” he stressed.

The encounter with Vietnam will be the second match for the Indochina National Team. Previously, Vietnam could only be held to a draw by Thailand playing in the third match on Tuesday (11/26). The match against the Indonesian women’s national team will be the second match for the Vietnamese women’s national team.
