The Asian Games 2018 officially closed at the Bung Karno Main Stadium. Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla closed Asia’s biggest sports party on Sunday (2/9). The event was also filled with a short speech by President Jokowi who was in the midst of the earthquake victims in Lombok.
Besides the audience, the event was attended by invited guests and athletes who had struggled for several weeks in Jakarta, Palembang and West Java. Several national and international famous artists were presented to entertain the audience there.
Indonesia’s success in holding the Asian Games 2018 get praises from the President of OCA, Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah. While previously, Jusuf Kalla as the representative of the Republic of Indonesia government thanked all those who supported the success of the Asian Games.
In a symbolic event, torches without fire and flags were given by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Alex Nurdin to Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah who then handed over the two items to the next Asian Games host representative.
In his speech, Joko Widodo hoped that the Asian Games would not extinguish the energy and enthusiasm of the Asian nations to remain united and rise to compete in the world. “The Asian Games have ended up here, but the energy and enthusiasm of Asia will not go out,” said Jokowi.
