Mixed doubles badminton specialist, Liliyana Natsir finally declared herself retired from the world of badminton. She says this on her personal Instagram account at @natsirlily after playing a very tight match against Chinese representative Zheng Siwei / Huang Yaqiong in the Denmark Open semi-finals in 2018.

“My last Denmark Open, thank you everyone for the support. See you again, Denmark!” wrote the badminton player who often pairs with Tantowi Yahya.

Even she declared that she’s retired after playing at the Danish Open, Liliyana still take the time to play for Indonesia in the French Open championship 2018. It is important to know that the Tantowi Yahya and Liliayana Natsir couples or familiarly called the Owi and Butet duet started playing together in 2010. So far, there have been many titles such as winning the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic gold medal, SEA Games 2011 gold medal, Asian Champion 2015 and 2013 and World Champion 2017.

Quoted from viva.co.id (10/23/18) in addition to duet with Owi, Butet has also been together with Nova Widianto. In fact, they were ranked number one in the mixed doubles on October 30, 2010.

At the World Championship, Butet created history as Indonesia’s first female player to win three titles at the prestigious event.

In 2013 with his partner Tantowi, Butet won the world title for the third time after defeating Chinese pair Xu Chen / Ma Jin.

Meanwhile, currently the pair Tontowi and Liliyana are still Indonesia’s best partners, ranking third in the world. Below them are Hafiz Faizal / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja (11th in the world), Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti (ranked 15th in the world) and Ricky Karanda Suwardi / Debby Susanto (ranking 20th in the world).

Reportedly after declaring her retirement from the world that raised her name, Liliyana will focus on new activity which is doing business. The business that she chooses is far beyond badminton, the business are property business and some kind of accupuncture. Hopefully, whatever that Liliyana chooses can benefit her and of course for Indonesia.
