Fadlin, Muhammad Zohri, Eko Rimbawan, and Bayu Kertanegara established themselves as the fastest humans in Indonesia. They even almost became the fastest humans on the Asian continent after winning silver from the number 4 x 100 men’s relay under the Japanese quartet who won the gold medal at the Bung Karno Main Stadium on Thursday (8/30)

For the Indonesian contingent, the silver medal is the third medal of the athletics at the Asian Games 2018, after Indonesia won silver in the 100m women’s obstacle and bronze in the long jump number.

In the men’s 4×100 meter relay final, the Indonesian relay team managed to break the time under 39 seconds. This achievement defeated other teams including runners from China who had to settle for bronze. In addition to get silver, they also managed to break the national record before a majority of their own supporters at SUGBK.

For the men’s relay team, this achievement equaled the achievement of the men’s relay team at the 1966 Asian Games. At that time, Indonesia also had to settle for getting a silver medal because it was 0.4 seconds slower than the gold winner, the Malaysian team.
