The Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) will continue to monitor talented and quality athletes. One of them is through the national circuit, which this season will be held directly in eight cities throughout Indonesia.
“There are two things we will see. First, how is the development of badminton evenly, because the national circuit will become a measurement tool for national ranking, because from there we will determine athletes who are sent to the international level, “said PBSI Secretary General Achmad Budiarto, as reported by the Antara News Agency.
Achmad Budiarto stated that the National Circuit (Sirnas) is a way to build the regeneration of national athletes.
According to him, in 2020, there will be eight Sirnas series, including DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Jambi, Central Kalimantan, South Sulawesi and Bali.
“What we need to say is that national athletes understand that Sirnas is an important part of sports organizations, because basically we have three main points, namely coaching, competition and organization. Sirnas is a manifestation of the competition, “said Achmad Budiarto.
For more than a decade, the Sirnas Championship has been a benchmark of how competition and coaching systems for young athletes in particular, using a tiered point system. At the end of the competition, the athlete with the highest points will be made a national athlete.
Sirnas, is the main national championship which is used as a reference for achievement and national badminton coaching. In one year PB PBSI will provide championships with a point system in five Sirnas series. Meanwhile, the winner with the highest points will get a ticket to be able to directly qualify for the national training (Pelatnas).
