The Indonesian contingent won one gold on the first day of the 2019 SEA Games, Sunday (1/12). This gold medal was presented by the Water Polo branch who had ensured their victory before the opening began. Indonesia actually got one gold song through Dwi Cindy Desyana who won the women’s dance number branch breaking dance branch. However, this number is then considered a branch of the exhibition.
Weightlifting, sepak takraw, and kurash contributed a total of 4 silver medals on the first day. In women’s 45kg weightlifting, Lisa Setiawati won silver with a total of 169 kg. In the sepak takraw branch, the women’s team consisting of Dini Sari, Asmira, Lena, Nur Yanti, and Evana Rahmawati collected 660 points to get a silver medal. From the Kurash branch, two female athletes namely Ince Maria and Shifa Khasani ranked second at 52 kg and 63 kg.
A total of 5 bronze medals were collected by Indonesian athletes on the first day. Two Triathlon athletes namely Muhammad Ahlul Firman and Nethavani Octavia each won 1 bronze medal from male and female numbers. From the women’s senior single Ice Skating branch, the bronze medal was donated by Zahira Savika Refa. Lifter Surahmat Wijoyo also contributed a medal from the men’s 55 kg number. In addition to getting 2 silverware, the kurash branch also contributed bronze through Peter Taslim at +90 kg.
