Nawar Becomes First Indonesian Athlete at World Beach Games

Karateka Nawar Kautsar Mastura made history as the first athlete to represent Indonesia at the World Beach Games. Nawar competed in the Women’s Individual Word allowance, at Katara Beach, Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 08.30 local time.

The event titled ANOC World Beach Games 2019 is the first beach sports event with multi-event format. Like the Olympics, this event was participated by 97 countries in the world, including Indonesia, by competing in 14 sports.

Indonesian athletes will compete in 3 sports. Karate is the first sport to be contested. Competing in qualification Round 1 of Group B number said individual girls, Nawar was not lucky to qualify for the next round. In Karate, Indonesia still has a representative namely Ahmad Zigi Zaresta Putra.
