Southeast Asian countries or better known as the South East Asian Games (SEA Games) are in sight. This multi-event event will be held in the Philippines, 30 November 2019 to 11 December 2019. As many as 11 countries will participate in this biennial event.
Initially, this sports party will be held at Brunie Darusalam. However, this northern country of Borneo resigned and the 2019 SEA Games were moved to the Philippines. With the motto “We Win as One”, around 10,000 athletes will take part in the biggest sports event in Southeast Asia. They will compete for around 530 medals distributed in 56 sports.
The opening ceremony of the 2019 SEA Games will be held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. Meanwhile, New Clark City will host the closing ceremony. This opportunity is the fourth opportunity for the Philippines to host the SEA Games. Previously, the capital city of Manila had been a host in 1981, 1991 and 2005.
Indonesia itself will send athletes to compete in 49 sports. In the 2017 Sea Games held in Malaysia, Indonesia won 38 gold, 63 silver and 90 bronze. In the final standings for medals, Indonesia ranks 5th out of 11 participating countries.
