Keep the Water Polo Positive Trend, PB PRSI Holds U-16 League


The success of the Indonesian team in the water polo sport at the 2019 SEA Games by breaking the gold medal record became an inspiration so that this aquatic sport could be maintained and its achievements improved.

As is known, the Indonesian water polo team has just made history with a gold medal at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines. In 2018 on the Asian Games stage, Indonesian water polo also successfully penetrated the last eight.

The Chairperson of the Water Polo League, Wisnu Wardhana, said that the league will start on March 3, 2020, and is temporary for Jakarta with a 16-year age group.

As stated by national water polo coach Dean Baldwin, the U-16 Water Polo League plan will take place at the Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium in Jakarta.

“We are not dreaming, but we have big plans to form a strong water polo national team. Not only in Jakarta, we will also make the Water Polo League in several other big cities,” added Dean, who successfully delivered the water polo national team to win gold at the 2019 SEA Games. The Philippines.

The nine teams that will compete in the Water Polo League are Jaq, Pari Sakti, Millennium Aquatic, Indonesia Star Aquatic, Bina Taruna, Tirta Kencana 78, Kusuma Harapan, Tirta Taruna, Sea Horse.
