The Executive Board of the All Indonesia Swimming Association (PB PSRI) is increasingly serious in preparing future athletes for sustainable Indonesia by accommodating talented athletes at an early age through various championships.

The latest, PB PSRI held a swimming competition titled Jakarta Swimming Competition which was held at the Gelora Bung Karno aquatic venue on October 18th-21st, 2018.

In the competition, 800 people participated. Interestingly, this year’s competition successfully attracted more interest from participants than in 2017. This condition is interesting because of the increasing number of participants following the Asian Games 2018 event which seemed to be a generator of interest for athletes.

The chief executive of JSC, Albert Sutanto, becomes a supporting factor to facilitate the search for potential seeds of national athletes. As for 2017, the number of participants was around 350 people.

“This year the number of participants has increased by more than 100 percent. “This competition can also be a place to find athletes to be included in the National Court,” Albert said, quoted by VIVA.co.id.

This is also acknowledged by the Deputy General Chair of PB PRSI, Harlin Rahardjo, who’s in the event takes part in the master class.

“It’s nice to be able to participate in the master class to motivate young swimmers to excel. “For this competition PRSI is not impossible to take as a national athlete, we will monitor,” he added.

On the other hand, after the 2018 Asian Games event, PB PSRI is currently working on a program to face the 2019 SEA Games until the upcoming Tokyo Olympics 2020. The prepared program is the National Training program.

According to the head of PB PSRI’s development and achievements, Wisnu Wardhana, National Training has now been active with new compositions. This is based on the last evaluation of the Games, which made 11 national records, the degradation system will be implemented.

Meanwhile the Indonesian swimming team led by Alber G. Sutanto along with foreign coach David Armandoni is focused on adding flight hours with a series of trials.
