Four Basketball athletes Christie Rumambi, Ayu Sriartha, Jovita Elizabeth Simon, and Dyah Lestari were represented in Indonesia in the ANOC World Beach Games women’s 3X3 Basketball branch at Gharafa Beach Complexs Doha, Qatar 9-17 October. Even though the competition is certain to be tough, all four are compactly targeting medals at the world’s largest beach sports event.
“We are honored to have the confidence to strengthen the 3×3 Putri Indonesia Basketball Team who will perform at ANOC World Beach Games 2019. And, we are ready to show our best to be able to present a medal for the Indonesian Contingent,” Christie Rumambi was quoted by Nusantaratv.com.
To achieve the target, Christie and friends must spend extra energy. The reason they have to compete with 26 other countries who participated in targeting medals at this event. Not to mention not much information about the strength of its competitors.
Nevertheless, the four SEA Games 2019 Pelatnas girls did not come empty-handed. In addition to training that began to be intense, their experience in the Nation League and World Cup 3X3 2019 was also a valuable asset.
“Competition in ANOC World Beach Games I / 2019 will definitely be tougher. Because, we will face teams who are used to competing in world events. However, we have never been afraid to face it and will make the experience of competing in the Nation League as capital to face opponents later, “added Jovita Elizabeth Simon.
Equivalent of three money in this event is a material to sharpen themselves. With hopes coming home from Qatar, Christie and friends will be better equipped to be displayed at the upcoming 2019 Philippines SEA Games.
“This event is very important for us to prove our ability in order to get tickets to the 2019 Philippines SEA Games. Because, we will compete with four other female athletes who are also members of the national training,” explained Christie.
