Indonesia and Asian Para Games


After the Asian Games, Indonesia will hold a grand sports party, the Asian Para Games 2018. The sports competition similar to Asian Games that is attended by disabilities will be held in Jakarta between October 6th and October 13th , 2018. This event is the third para games held in Asia. Two previous events were held in Guangzhou 2010 and Incheon 2014.

Before being named Asian Para Games, this competition was named FESPIC Games or Far East and South Pacific Games for the Disabled. The FESPIC Games were first held in 1975 in Oita Japan and last held in 2006 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Indonesia has hosted FESPIC Games. This happened in 1986, and the city of Solo had the honor of hosting this sports party.

At the first Asian Games in Guangzhou, Indonesia managed to rank 14 of the 30 participants medal-winning. In China, the Indonesian contingent collected 1 gold medal, 5 silver medals, 5 bronze medals.

In Incheon, the Indonesian contingent managed to improve its achievements at the Asian Games 2014. A total of 9 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 18 bronze medals were successfully brought home. Indonesia also ranked 9th in the final medal standings.

The Badminton Branch becomes the branch with the most gold medals, namely 4 gold, followed by 3 gold swimming pools and 2 of Table Tennis. This achievement is definitely an asset for Indonesian athletes to navigate the Asian Games para games 2018. This makes interesting to wait .
