Extend the Record, Men’s Team Wins Badminton Gold Medal


The Indonesian men’s Badminton Team won the gold medal at the 2019 SEA Games. In the final held on Wednesday (4/12) at Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, the Indonesian team defeated Malaysia with a score of 3-1.

Indonesia’s victory over Malaysia was determined by the double victory of Wahyu Nayaka’s son Arya Pangkaryanira / Ade Yusuf Santoso who successfully defeated the Malaysian couple, Ong Yew Sin / Teo Ee Yi with a score of 21-16, 21-19.

In the first party, men’s singles Jonatan Christie managed to menyudai Lee Zii Jia’s resistance with a score of 21-9, 21-17. Malaysia had equalized through the pair Aaaron Chia / Sooh Wooi Yik who defeated the pair of Dawn Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto with a score of 17-21, 13-21.
