An all-out exercise conducted by EkoYuliIrawan finally paid off. This exercise makes Indonesia again able to add a gold medal at the Asian Games 2018. This Lampung athlete wins the 5th gold in Indonesia at JIExpo – Hall A, Jakarta, Tuesday (21/8). In the men’s 62 kg class, Eko eliminated 12 opponents with a total force of 311 kg.
This gold medal again is a new record in Indonesia, especially for weightlifting branches. During Indonesia’s participation in the Asian Games, only this time the weightlifting branch donates a gold medal. Since being competed at the Asian Games 1951, Indonesia has only been able to collect 8 silvers and 14 bronzes, including silver obtained by Sri Wahyuni Agustiani and bronze from Surahmat bin Suwoto Wijoyo on Monday.
For Eko, who is motivated to give the best for the country, this medal is the third Asian Games medal on the same number. At Asian sports parties in 2010 and 2014, the 29-year-old athlete received 2 bronze medals.
