Indonesia’s mainstay lifter, Eko Yuli Irawan again makes Indonesia proud. This time, the lifter from Lampung managed to become the best in the 61 kg class, the world championship held in Ashgabat Turkmenistan on Saturday (3/11) local time.
Contested in his mainstay’s number, Eko Yuli managed to record a total force of 317 kg. In the Snatch force, the owner of a weight of 60.87 kg managed to lift the load of 143 kg. While in the clean and clerk class, Eko recorded lifts of 174 kg. In both classes, Eko became the best.
Two Chinese lifters became Eko’s closest rivals. With a total force of 310 and 308, Fabin Li and Fulin Qin won silver and bronze medals.
Indonesia still leaves nine other athletes in seven different numbers. They are, Deni class 67 kg, Triyatno and Rahmat Erwin Abdullah class 73 kg, Sri Wahyuni class 49 kg, Yolanda Putri 49 kg, Sarah Anggraeni class 55 kg, Acchedya Jagadditha class 59 kg, and Nurul Akmal class + 87 kg. This world championship event will continue for the next one week.
