Long-distance runner champion Indonesian Team Agus Prayogo does not want to remain silent to see the impact of the expanding Covid-19 pandemic. Agus decided to help with the handling of the pandemic, by auctioning his shoes. Not just any shoes, because these are the shoes he used when he set a national record.
“I will donate historic shoes for me. Together with these shoes, I have managed to break the national marathon half record,” Agus said on his social media page, as reported by Republika.
A pair of these shoes, previously used by Agus at the 2019 Gold Coast Marathon championship, Australia. The shoes are Nike brand with a type of Vaporfly Flyknit size 43 EU / 10 US.
At that time the runner who was also listed as an active member of the Army, was able to record a time of one hour six minutes 26 seconds. Break the previous record, on behalf of Agus himself, with one hour and seven minutes and 17 seconds.
Agus said, that to hold the auction, he collaborated with NusantaraRun, and then the results of the auction would be donated to support the social program #RibuanLangkahLawanCorona.
The technical auction will be held by broadcasting live via the Instagram account @ agusprayogo21 on Saturday (5/16), and the auction is held for 24 hours.
“The auction results will be used to buy groceries for villagers in Jakarta affected by COVID-19,” Agus added.
As a national runner, Agus Prayogo’s name cannot be separated from various achievements. Starting from the champion in Jakarta 10K 2003, his performance continued to skyrocket, even though he had failed to enter the national team at the 2005 SEA Games.
