5 World Athletes Appearing at SEA Games 2019

The 2019 SEA Games is not only a place to make achievements for athletes in the Southeast Asian region. There are a series of world-famous names also compete for medals representing their respective countries.

Jonatan Christie (Indonesian / Badminton)
The name of Jonatan Christie or a close friend called Jojo skyrocketed when he brought Indonesia to win the men’s gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. But long before that 22-year-old badminton pebulu already had a lot of experience at the SEA Games. No one realized that, Jojo had already won three gold medals namely gold at the 2015 Singapore SEA Games, and two golds at the 2017 SEA Games Malaysia.

At the world level, Jojo has already won four championship titles. Namely Australia Open, New Zaeland Open, Swiss International and Indonesia International. This amount does not include silver and other bronze medals.

With all these achievements Jojo is currently ranked 6th in the world in men’s singles.

Sinisuka Ginting (Indonesia / Badminton)
In addition to Jojo, Indonesia also sent Anthony Sinisuka Ginting to maximize the medal gain from badminton sports. The world number 8 men’s singles entered at the last moment before the departure of the Indonesian contingent.

Just like Jojo, Ginting has also eaten a lot of sour salt in world competitions. He has collected at least three championship titles, China Open, Indonesia Masters, Korean Open. Not including the bronze and silver medals that he collected.

Jojo and Ginting also often met in the final of several competitions. Like when the Australian Open 2019, where ginting had to settle for a dairy medal lost 2-1. Then the final of the 2017 Korean Open that Ginting won with a score of 2-1.

Aries Susanti (Indonesia / Rock Climbing)
Finally there is Aries Susanti who has just shocked the world after breaking the world record for rock climbing.

Areies became recorded at the IFSC World Cup Xiamen 2019 with a final time of 6.995 seconds. He defeated his rival Yi Long Song from China, who only carved a time of 9,032 seconds.

For this achievement, Aries not only returned home with a gold medal, but also became the first woman to record 7 seconds.

Before the happy moment the name of the 24-year-old virgin has also made a brilliant achievement. In the previous year he also won a bronze medal on a similar display.
