Three male weightlifters from the Indonesian Team will soon compete for tickets to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, by qualifying in Iran. Eko Yuli Irawan, Deni and Triyatno, three lifter who will fight, they are also accompanied by Team Manager Alamsyah Wijaya, as well as duet trainers Abdulla Daming and Muhammad Rusli.
The three Indonesian lifters will compete in the Fajr Cup International Championship which is also a medium for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Qualification. The Fajr Cup 2020 will be held in Rasht City, 241 km from Tehran on February 1-5, 2020.
In this championship, the mainstay Lifter Eko Yuli Irawan will compete in its flagship class, the number 61 kg. Eko’s chances in this number are fairly large, because the 2019 SEA Games gold medalist is now ranked fifth in the world.
If you want to secure tickets to the Tokyo Olympics, Eko is required to be able to maintain his current position until the end of the qualification period in April 2020. Because, the requirement to qualify directly for the Olympics is ranked 1-8 in the world.
Previously, Eko had also passed the Olympics in 2016, and even in the biggest event in the world, he won a silver medal. Now it becomes a formidable task, to be able to maintain these expectations, and improve his performance.
Meanwhile, Lifter Deni will compete in the 67 kg class. While Triyatno will go down at 73 kg. Deni and Triyatno are also expected to achieve good results, in order to qualify for Tokyo 2020.
